Located in the heart of the dramatic middle section of Hadrian's Wall, Saughy Rigg Restaurant and Bar offers you fine dining in stunning surroundings. Our menus combine traditional ingredients with comtemporary tastes to produce a vibrant, modern British flavour and we invite you to eat in our newly appointed dining room just a stones throw from the ancient Roman Wall.

Pan fried king scallops served with a minted pea puree and palma ham served with croutons and salad.

Marinated pan seared mackerel fillet served with fresh salad leaves dressed in lemon and olive oil.

Roasted vegetable tian £3.95

Char-grilled Mediterranean vegetables served with goats cheese, mint and balsamic dressing.

Chicken liver pate £3.95

Homemade chicken liver pate flavoured with whiskey and garlic and served with melba toast and Cumberland sauce.

Smoked pheasant salad £3.95

Home smoked local pheasant served with braised red cabbage, fresh salad leaves, pine nuts and crispy bacon.

Pan fried pork fillet £12.95

Tender loin of pork char grilled and served with a bubble and squeak potato cake and cider gravy.

Stuffed chicken breast £12.95

Free range chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and parmesan wrapped in palma ham and roast in the oven. Served with roast potatoes and wilted spinach.

Mushroom risotto £12.95

Mushrooms pan fried with garlic and fresh parsley in a creamy risotto. Served with parmesan crisps.

Rack of lamb £13.95

British lamb rack served with redcurrant gravy, crispy garden mint, roast parsnips and mashed potato.

Roast duck breast £13.95

Pan fried duck breast, served pink, braised cabbage, roast garlic and shallots, pan gravy and roast potatoes.

8oz sirloin steak £14.95

An 8 oz rare breed sirloin steak cooked to your liking and served with hand cut chunky chips, watercress, grilled mushroom and tomato and your choice of stilton or peppercorn sauce.

A light set cream and lemon dessert served with shortbread.
